Within the mysterious and dark Troll Stronghold, you will find many dangers and enemies. If you want to defeat the trolls successfully, you must know where each type of enemy resides within this fortress.

This is a multiplayer, browser-based game where players take on the role of either an Elf, Dwarf, or Human and try to defend their stronghold from invading trolls. The goal is to survive as long as possible by defending your home with military units like archers and sworders.

Players can also use spells such as lightning bolts to weaken enemies. Troll Stronghold has been around for over 20 years, and it still manages to keep people entertained with the simple gameplay mechanics that make it easy for anyone to jump in.

Troll Stronghold

This is one of the most challenging dungeons in RuneScape. If you consider tackling this dungeon, here are some things to consider before embarking on your journey.

1) Be Prepared For A Lot Of Combat

The Trolls don’t mess around, and they’ll fight tooth and nail for their territory. You’ll need to be fully equipped with food, armor, weapons, potions, runes, etc. You will also want to bring plenty of prayer potions because strong monsters use magic attacks in this dungeon.

2) Bring Friends

This can be done through solo play or joining up with other players online. It’s much easier when you have others by your side who know what they’re doing.

What Is Troll Stronghold?

The Troll Series is a series of quests that involve the titular trolls and their quest giver, Godric. In this instance, you must gain access to Mount Trollheim to rescue one of these soldiers from Burthorpe who needs help.

Dad

This is where players meet a giant troll called Dad. He will say that nobody goes past without defeating him, and he’s level 101 with an entangling tree root to hit from melee.

But you can find a safe spot by standing next to the western gate or in front of those seats there (and attack using either ranged magic if using one).

Because his defensive stats aren’t too high against them, it may take some time before killing him, though. It’ll be much easier when dealing damage via spells rather than ranged weaponry.

Just remember not to make direct contact as they’re likely doing quite significant chip damage over time while shooting at close quarters.

Inside The Stronghold

Inside, you’ll find some more level 69 and 71 mountain trolls. From the entrance, walk south until you see a door on the west wall, enter it, then head north for several aggressive generals (level 113) that wield huge granite knives which can hit up to 38 with their bare hands.

One of them is hiding in his room, so lure him out by standing next to either side or near one end if he’s at ground level.

Alternatively, use Protect from Melee when fighting this guy because ranged attacks have an easier time hitting closer targets like these anyway but be careful as they are potent opponents who will sell back any items taken away during combat.

Keep Ranged/Magic handy, though, just in case things get too close.

Prison Break

Once you have the key, go back south down some stairs and into Burntmeat’s Kitchen. Head to the very north end of your stronghold, where a locked door is waiting with iron bars protecting it from outside interference.

This prison cell contains two sleeping guards called Berry and Twig, who are level 71 by themselves but can be safely spotted if managed correctly.

If Thieving skill isn’t available yet at Level 30, don’t worry about getting their keys since they’ll still attack sight. Just make sure not to get hit in return during combat while killing them off one by one.

Congratulations

You have completed the Troll Stronghold quest.
